June 1st marked the first day of this years' Summer Reading Program! This year the theme is "Heroes"
Beginning in June, and continuing throughout the summer, children who will be entering Pre-K to grade 2 can register for the Summer Reading Program at the Mashpee Public Library. Children will receive a reading log, a book bag and incentives. Each week they will receive a sticker for their reading efforts, and when they have collected five stickers they will receive the final prize – a coupon for a free ice cream cone from Polar Cave Ice Cream Parlor!
The Mashpee Public Library is also offering an Online Summer Reading Program for students entering grades 3 through 12. You can register for the online program at www.readsinma.org/mashpee.
There will be many weekly storytimes and special events at the library this summer. Stop by the library for a flyer or visit http://checkitoutatmpl.blogspot.com/p/childrens-room-events.html for a list of events.
So this summer enjoy books, newspapers, magazines, audiobooks and eBooks at your library… and discover your own inner “Super Hero” powers!
